Why can't there be longer due-back dates for books with a high number of pages? I often check out computer books that are 700+ pages. It takes longer to get through them than say a 300 page fiction book. Brian C
STAFF REPLY - We understand your dilemma perfectly! Some books are definitely more difficult to finish in the 3-week checkout period than others. Books can then be renewed for another 3-week period so long as they are not on hold for another person. The idea of a maximum 6-week turnover period is so that all our materials can be shared among the many people who use our library. You can renew online, by phone at 303-665-5200, ext. 2 or of course in person.
Now that's an idea - personalized check out times. Maybe you could have a program for slow-readers too. But that might mean kids picture books get checked out for only 1 day.
