How about a book return on the driver's side? It's more convenient for single people who don't want to get out onto icy sidewalks. Tx

Yes, we ended up creating a new problem when trying to solve a different one. Please hang in there, the parking lot will be repaved and restriped this summer, and the book return issue should be solved.
Most people drive up to the return by going the wrong way, and that isn't causing problems, so try that for now. We also know that the returns aren't in the best spot - it's hard to get close to them even when you drive on the wrong side. Until the summer when things get fixed, the best solution is to come into the parking lot from the north end and you don't have to make that sharp turn to line up with the return.
Just some additional thought on the drop off bin out in front of the library.
Encouraging people to drive the wrong way has almost caused several acidents out there.
Probably placing the drop off at the far north end of the parking lot away from the main entrance migh alleviate the problem.
The City of Lafayette is taking a big risk with the drop off by the bicycle racks and inattentive children who ride to the library, not watching for cars coming the wrong way to drop off of books.
Just my two cents worth.

I like the book drop move - it's wonderful for me!
